PROTECTING OUR ENVIRONMENT

Litter bins are located strategically across the town and some have segregated units for recycling and landfill waste streams. Please assist our Council staff and Tidy Towns Committee to keep Westport litter free.

Recycling banks for glass, aluminum cans and textiles are located in the Mil Street car park and the Harbour, allowing you to dispose of your recyclable waste at a time that suits you.  Please bring your bags/boxes home with you and reuse them again. If the banks are full please go to another site or return when the banks have been emptied. Free text 087 3737052 for banks to be emptied.

Waste batteries can be recycled at any retail premises which sell batteries. The retailer should have a blue box for the collection of waste batteries, alternatively your  accommodation provider may provide the blue WEEE Ireland box for waste batteries. The blue battery boxes are subsequently collected for recovery by WEEE Ireland.
